Abbotsford Convent shortlisted for national award

An organisation that runs a creative centre in Print company in Abbotsford printing services Abbotsford has made the closing stages of a national award scheme.

The Abbotsford Convent Foundation has been named as a finalist in the 2014 Social Enterprise Awards, which recognise businesses and organisations that invest in social enterprise in ways such as helping the disadvantaged, promoting culture, or protecting the environment.

Abbotsford Convent is used as an arts and learning space that encourages collaboration and offers the opportunity for local people to enjoy a range of arts and cultural activities.

The Foundation has been listed in the Small Social Enterprise of the Year category and will compete against four other organisations from across Australia for the title.

The winner of the category will be awarded $5,000. If the Foundation were to come out on top, it would be also able to use the accolade on promotional material produced through Print company in stationery printing printing services stationery printing or Print company in poster printing printing services poster printing.

The awards are run by social enterprise development organisation Social Traders, and the winners will be announced at a special dinner in Print company in Melbourne printing services Melbourne next month.

Entries will be judged by a panel of experts and will be announced by special guest speaker Nancy Neamtan.

Neamtan is the executive director of Chantier de l’economie sociale, a Canada-based non-profit organisation that co-ordinates a network of development organisations and social enterprises.

The winners will be announced on Thursday, 12th June.
