Arts centre invites applications for 2017
June 21, 2016 by Mark
Anyone interested in applying for the Artist in Residence programme, room hire, or gallery hire at the Box Hill Community Arts Centre (BHCAC) next year is being asked to make their submissions now.
A spokesman for the Community Arts Centre said the venue had much to offer, including beautiful landscaped gardens and an award-winning building that is constantly abuzz with cultural and artistic endeavours.
He said the Artist in Residence Programme was available to both international and local established or emerging artists. The successful applicant will be given a chance to develop their own artistic practice in a supportive, vibrant arts facility.
The spokesman said expressions of interest were also being called from artists who are keen to exhibit in the centre’s professional public gallery during 2017.
He said exhibitions that promoted contemporary and traditional art forms were encouraged, along with those that explored new techniques and ideas.
No gallery costs would be involved for themes including Reconciliation Week, Matsudo – Japanese themed exhibition, Sustainability Week and Chinese New Year 2017. Advertising via flyers, brochures and the Whitehorse Council website often assist with promoting these displays.
The BHCAC is also available for hire by community and corporate groups. Applications for the programme must be submitted by this Sunday, June 26.
