Contra Vision extends its printing competition deadline

An international competition that recognises innovative and creative see-through sign, display and banner printing has been extended by another two weeks to 30 September 2011. Run by Contra Vision, suppliers of one way vision window graphics, commonly used in outdoor advertising, the 3rd International Wrapping Competition will be looking for the best see through graphics project.
Wrap printing has become an increasingly popular method used in advertising, marketing and signage and can be regularly seen across the streets of Melbourne on buses, bus stops, shop fronts and buildings.
Entrants will be in the running to win a trip to America to attend the SGIA (Speciality Printing & Imaging Technology) 2011 Expo in New Orleans this October as well as a trophy and US$1,000 cash prize. Winners will be announced at the 3rd Contra Vision® International Wrap Artists Competition Awards ceremony on 19 October. The winning entry will also be displayed at the Contra Vision booth at the SGIA Expo.
The competition falls into one of six categories which include:
* Best Building Wrap
* Best Vehicle Wrap
* Best Point-of-purchase
* Best Interior Design
* Best Entrance Door
All entries must be commercially produced and use a Contra Vision licensed product when producing their entry.
The deadline extension will allows more time for budding wrap printers from Melbourne and across the country to get their creative juices flowing and produce vehicle, printing or retail Point-of-sale(POS) wrapping to show the highly-esteemed judging panel the talent that exists on the other side of the Pacific.

Bribery charges against two Melbourne banknote printing companies

Two Australian banknote printing companies have been charged with bribing government officials in South East Asia.
West Melbourne
print companies Note Printing Australia and Securency International are alleged to have bribed senior public officials from Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia to secure banknote contracts during 1999 and 2005, according to Bloomberg News.
