Bevilles Jewellers to market new stores in Moorabbin, Victoria
August 20, 2011 by Robyn
The Bevilles Jewellers store in the Bourke Street Mall Outlet is closing as they were unable to renew their current lease. This is because the company was trumped by an offer that was made by the international company Swarovski. While the store is having a closing down sale, it is not the end for Bevilles Jewellers in Victoria.
This is the first time since 1934 that the store has not had a retail space in central Melbourne. However, store owners have indicated that they would be interested in opening a store in the city if the right rental price, property and location was available. Currently the store plans to open a new store in the DFO outlet in
Moorabbin.
Once the new store has opened Bevilles Jewellers will need to let customers know that they have moved. This can be done using a marketing campaign using printing services such as poster creation and flier distribution.
Managers of Beville's Jewellers believe that the retail industry has been greatly affected by the rise of international brands such as Swarovski breaking into the Australian market. Unfortunately smaller Australian businesses can not compete with the offers that these big brands are making. In this case it is rumored that Swarovski offered $1 million dollars for the Beville's Jewellers lease. Due to this market trend and the fact that more consumers are shopping online Beville's Jewellers believes that retailers will now need to rethink their current business strategy.
