Brisbane Marketing launches brand toolkits
July 27, 2011 by Mark
Brisbane Marketing, a subsidiary of the Brisbane City Council, has put together a brand toolkit for businesses and others to use to get the word out about what a great place the city is in which to live, work and play. Print companies in the nearby suburb of
Darra will probably be interested in finding out exactly what brand styles are being promoted.
The goal of the brand toolkit is to promote the Brisbane City region as “Australia’s New World City” by adopting a uniform look for signs and promotional material of all businesses, events, buildings, city vehicles and conferences held in the city. Basically they wish for all advertising and marketing for the city to use the same brand. Brisbane Marketing is promoting Brisbane as having such values as creativity, positivity, enthusiasm, innovation and purposefulness through the brand toolkit.
The logo of Brisbane uses Pantone Blue 548 and font Boris Black Bloxx for the city name and Alte Haas Grotesk Bold for the subheading of Australia’s New World City. Both of these fonts can be downloaded from the Brisbane Marketing website.
When a city uses a brand and a uniform style in advertising, it looks more professional and promotes the idea that the business and government of a city are working together to promote success and economic improvement. Those from outside might be more inclined to see an area which uses a uniform brand as one that is more trustworthy and professional. Having a memorable blurb like “Australia’s New World City” can only help improve a city’s image.
