Landmark year celebration marks new era of growth

Lipscombe Park Kindergarten has marked its 50th anniversary year with a major redevelopment that will boost the number of children able to access the early year’s education programme on offer.

The $550,000 redevelopment, launched recently by Maroondah Mayor Tony Dib, boosts the number of young children in Print company in Croydon printing services Croydon and throughout the City of Maroondah who are able to access its high-quality education curriculum.

Cr. Dib said the dual celebration was an exciting time for the kindergarten, which, during the works programme, had been operating out of the Yarrunga Community Centre. He said:

“Lipscombe Park Kindergarten is celebrating its 50th birthday this year and has a strong history of attendance by children who require mobility assistance, so the new design improves access to the facility with ramp upgrades and accessible amenities.”

The refurbishment included enlarging the kinder room to hold more children as well as new toilets, store rooms, kitchen, meeting room and staff office.

In addition, outside works involved resurfacing works at the back of the kindergarten and a new ramp for access to the building.

Dib said members of the community, who had been kept informed of the progress via newsletter printing, had shown great patience and support for the project.

Lipscombe Park Kindergarten parent committee president Crystal Morrissey said exploring the new-look areas was proving popular with the children, and staff members were also revelling in the new, inviting and fresh working environment.
