Mary Poppins comes to Perth
April 6, 2012 by Mark
An Australian production of the classic musical ‘Mary Poppins’ is coming to Perth in 2012. The cast of the musical promise that there will be ceiling dancing, objects being pulled out of a magical bag and flying. While the story of Mary Poppins was intended for children, organisers of the show believe that adults will also find the performance entertaining.
The musical is based on the books written by Australia's own P.L. Travers and the 1964 film by Walt Disney. The show tells the story of two kids and a nanny with magical powers. Anyone who is considering attending the event should be aware that it does not stick to the story of the book or film in their entirety. However, most stage shows have to amend stories as they have limited resources, space and time.
The majority of the audience at the show will come from Perth suburbs such as Welshpool. Unfortunately, many people will be unable to attend the show if they hear about it too late. As tickets to popular musicals sell out fast, organisers may want to consider a small advertising campaign. Using a printing company is an easy and affordable way to do this. The show can pay for brochure and flyer printing services. These flyers and brochures can be distributed at community centres, travel agents and other theatres. If locals and tourists are aware of the times and dates of the show they will be more likely to buy a ticket in advance. This will ensure that diehard fans will not miss out on seeing the show.
