Pop-up gift shops in Melbourne for Christmas
December 23, 2011 by Mark
Melbournalia will be gathering together the work of over 30 artists and designers from all over Melbourne to present their wares at Pop-Up Gift Shops. These stalls give customers the opportunity to buy unique, locally designed and constructed items, which are also practical and beautiful.
The Pop-Up Gift shops will be selling finely wrought satchels by Peter O’Connor, unusual tableware by Ingrid Tufts, designer knitwear by Otto & Spike, jewellery by Ali Alexander, lampshades by Alex Earl and stationery by Sunday Paper. Sunday Paper uses stationery printing to illustrate quirky Melbourne images on its finely crafted writing paper
Customers coming into the city from as far away as Springvale won’t be disappointed by the unique selection of gift ideas for Christmas but if you don’t fancy a long drive, the Melbournalia range of tableware, jewellery and locally designed paper goods can be found on the Melbournalia online shop.
The Melbournialia Pop-Up Gift Shops will be located at the Captains of Industry, The Nicholas Building, The League of Honest Coffee and the last one on Franklin Street near the Queen Victoria Market. There will also be a street stall set up near the corner of Bourke and Elizabeth Streets.
The Pop-Up Gift Shops will be open until tomorrow, Christmas Eve, for those who leave their Christmas shopping to the last minute.
For more information regarding the individual opening times for the various Pop-Up Gift shops go to the informative Melbournalia website – but be fast, there's not long left.
