Talents of young artists on show at Artspace exhibition

In what will be the venue’s first exhibition for the year, `New Works: New works from the New Star artists’ will deliver an electrifying array of unique art installations and artworks produced from an inspirational team of young creative talents.
Councillor Raylene Carr is from the City of Whitehorse, which is mounting the exhibition, and said the display will coincide with the Year of the Rooster Chinese New Year celebrations. These celebrations are being promoted via flyers and poster printing within the local area.
She said this was apt as the young artists were both talented and hardworking, which are trademark characteristics of the rooster.
The artists whose works will be on show are aged from four to 18 and all have undertaken studies at the New Star Art School for which classes have been held across Melbourne.
Local students have attended classes at Box Hill where a unique teaching technique that reflects key Western and Eastern art education systems has been implemented by teachers, according to Cr Carr.
She said the technique is specifically designed to quickly develop artistic skills in art classes held for children of all ages.
The free exhibition will be on show at the Whitehorse Artspace from February 2 to March 4.
