The Bollywood actress Vidya Balan will be attending the Bollywood festival in June 2012. The Victorian Premier has announced that the actress will be in the city to help with promoting the festival.
World famous chef Anthopny Bourdain will be heading to Melbourne in the near future. This news is sure to delight Masterchef fans in the city as well as those in small towns like Abbotsford. Bourdain is planning to catch up with some colleagues from his Masterchef days. During his visit, he will sample meals at numerous restaurants in Victoria.
Abbotsford Convent arts precinct is once again staging their independent open air cinema program during summer called The Shadow Electric.
The Paris to Provence Festival will take place from November 25-27 at Como House in Melbourne. Como House will be set up like an idyllic French Village and visitors will smell, touch, taste all that embodies France; admission is $15 a day, $10 for National Trust members and free for children under 17.
The Newcastle Region Art Gallery has over 800 Australian prints in the permanent collection. These prints range in date from 1812 up to the present day. The gallery was opened in 1977 and draws visitors from all over including those in nearby Abbotsford. All of the Australian prints in the gallery are contained in a 4-volume illustrated catalog; the gallery utilised catalog printing as it was an effective and efficient way of providing a comprehensive illustration of the holdings.
