Minuteman Press South Melbourne is a long established business "identity" in the City of Port Phillip.

Technology may soon be taking the business of printing one step further, with HP making a strategic software acquisition just before the holiday season. HP acquired German software development company Hiflex, whose software is expected to be used to further HP's cloud printing ambitions. PrintCom Expo 2011 has already experienced strong attendance numbers in its first day with visitors literally queuing outside the door before it had even officially kicked off. PrintCom Expo is run by the Graphic Arts Services Association of Australia (GASAA), a non-for-profit organisation that supports the graphic arts industry by providing training resources to its members.
Awards season has officially kicked off for Australias print industry with the Printing Industries Craftsmanship Awards (PICA) kicking off across the country. The Tasmania and South Australia PICA Awards took place earlier this month and are closely followed by the Victorian state awards on 26 August to be held at Melbournes Sofitel Hotel. The state PICAs are rounded out by NSW on 2 September, Queensland on 9 September ending with the ACT awards on 4 November.
