Local achievers join ranks of Australia’s top bachelors

January 10, 2018 by

Soap opera star Matt Wilson and rugby player Tim Austee have been named on Cosmopolitan’s list of 30 most eligible bachelors in Australia.

Castle Hill’s local heartthrobs were both surprised when advised of their latest honour as finalists in the competition, which will be voted on by the public.

Wilson, 29, who has been the subject of major promotions ranging from poster printing to television interviews since his arrival on the set of Neighbours in 2015, said his first reaction was `Wow’.

“At first I thought it was pretty cool, then it really sunk in and I realised what a great opportunity it is and flattering thing to be nominated for.”

He said to win it would be `awesome’.

Starting out as a carpenter, Wilson turned to acting after securing the title of Australia’s Hottest Tradie in 2010 and attending the National Institute of Dramatic Art.

Since being cast as Aaron Brennan in the popular Neighbours series, the former Kellyville resident has moved to Melbourne but returns often to spend time with his family.

Tim Anstee too – at just 20 – has become something of a jetsetter since joining the Sydney Sevens last year.

The Baulkham Hills player has only recently returned from South Africa, where he put his rugby skills to work at the Cape Town Sevens.

Australia’s Bachelor of the Year will be announced on February 22.
