Winter Arts Festival warms up City of Casey

June 5, 2018 by

For the last 15 years the City of Casey has used the winter months to showcase local arts groups and artists during their Winter Arts Festival. The program is now being drawn up for the 2018 Festival and will include a wide variety of events.

As in previous years, lovers of the Arts in Narre Warren, Cranbourne and nearby suburbs can expect to enjoy concerts and exhibitions, have the chance to participate in workshops and visit open studios.

Local artists and groups were invited to submit expressions of interest to be part of the Winter Arts Festival. By holding their event during the winter months, participants can be included in and benefit from the Festival.

Poster printing will no doubt help publicise the various activities that will be held in the coming months.

Previous years have featured a variety of school holiday activities for children, such as book making, ceramic painting and puppetry, with photography and home recording for older kids. Local theatre productions and choir concerts have been part of the Festival. Exhibitions of quilts and other textiles, photographs, jewellery and mixed media art have all been included in previous festivals. Many of the performances, workshops and exhibitions have been free events.

To see what will be included in this year’s Festival, keep an eye on the City of Casey website and a look out for brochures and posters appearing around the local area.
