NDIS comes to Narre Warren

June 26, 2018 by

The National Disability Insurance Scheme will begin in the Narre Warren area from September 1.

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHSS) will be presenting an information session at Bunjil Place, 2 Patrick NE Drive, Narre Warren at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 4. The aim of the session is to help prospective clients of the scheme, and their families and carers, understand what the NDIS is, how it works, the kinds of support that it offers, how to access it and how it will be rolled out locally. People with disabilities and their caregivers are encouraged to attend to find out more about how the scheme can help them, and to ask any questions they may have.

For more information, contact NDIS on 1800 800 110 or via the website www.ndis.gov.au

Amaze has organised a series of workshops for people on the autism spectrum and their families to help them understand how best to access services under the NDIS. The four free workshops will be held on Tuesday evenings August 7 and 14, and September 4 and 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Bunjil Place. Participants need to attend all four workshops.

A support coordination provider forum will be held on July 5 at 10:00 am also at Bunjil Place. Business card printing has no doubt been organised by support providers and coordinators who will be delivering services under the scheme.
