Maroochydore sessions to shed light on solar

With ever-increasing power rates, families are looking at available renewable energy options that can decrease power consumption and electricity bills. First on this list of options is solar energy, and an upcoming library session will discuss its application and potential.

Queensland, being the Sunshine State, will not want for sun, and the Sunshine Coast City Council Libraries sponsors several events around the theme of sustainable living. One such event is the Harness the Sun discussion with a representative from Halcol Energy giving insights on such subjects as:

• Tesla batteries, inverters and energy monitors
• The available rebates
• Energy storage and how to use smart devices to monitor usage around the house
• Modern solar options and their benefits to the community and environment

Printed flyers and brochures are readily available in the community detailing solar energy offers from providers. The talks should provide a venue to answer any lingering questions that customers must ask to make an informed decision in installing solar energy at home. Matching current power consumption and the size of the installation is one of the factors that people may get wrong without a good understanding of the product offered.

The talks will happen in various Sunshine Coast Council Libraries, including the Maroochydore Library, which is located at 44 Sixth Avenue and hosts the talk at 5:00 pm on August 28.
