One Night spectacle in Foostcray

A riot of music, food, performance and art will take over Footscray for one night in November. The aptly named event One Night in Footscray is an opportunity for residents and visitors to discover the bars, galleries and hidden spaces the city has to offer.

This year’s event is shaping up to be bigger and better than the last. The packed schedule includes several art installations. Negai is sure to be a favourite with families, the installation will feature thousands of colourful paper cranes and visitors are invited to attach messages of hope, wishes and thoughts for transmission to the universe.

Graphic design lovers will be drawn to the exhibition of graduating students work at Victoria University. The works displayed will explore a variety of techniques – classic, contemporary and digital in mediums including painting, drawing and digital media.

Music lovers haven’t been forgotten, as there will be many exciting performances. Sikander will appear at the Night Heron, DJs Agent 86, Pixleton and more will perform at Sloth Bar and the Reference Hotel will feature an incredible 36 bands for its event, Not Fest.

One Night in Footscray will be held on Friday 23 November. The event is supported by the Maribyrnong City Council and the Victoria University and is designed to highlight the work of local artists, practitioners and students.
