The annual Lunar New Year Festival will be held in Hurstville this February to celebrate the start of the Year of the Pig.

Residents of Milperra and the greater Georges River area are encouraged to attend and enjoy the festivities.

A parade of spectacular floats will start the day’s entertainment. The parade will travel along Forest Road, Hurstville to the Official Lunar New Year Ceremony. Events like this are often promoted with the aid of poster printing services.

Forest Road is expected to host around 50,000 visitors during the Festival. The street will be lined with a range of food vendors, market stalls, lion dance and traditional eye dotting, special performances, activities and rides. The event is designed to share the vibrant and diverse local customs and cultures with the wider community and visitors.

Singer Wah Dee will headline the onstage entertainment. Crowd favourites the Dragon Dancers will be there to entertain festival goers. The event is organised by the Georges River Council and is now in its 16th year and continues to delight the crowd. Each year the festivities get bigger and better.

The 2019 Lunar New Year festival will be held on Forest Road Hurstville, on Saturday 2 February from 10am to 5pm. Further details, including transport options and road closure details, can be found on the Georges River Council website.
