Networking event in Sutherland Shire to help women in business

January 8, 2019 by

Businesswomen in Sutherland Shire are invited to network over coffee at an event organised by ShireWomen.

ShireWomen aims to bring together female business owners and professionals for an opportunity to get to know one another, network and learn information and skills that will be helpful to them in their careers.

The ShireWomen Business Member Community is made up of women in the local professional and business communities. The group aims to address the disadvantages that women face in areas such as pay inequality, the glass ceiling and a lack of support networks of other women in similar situations.

The organisation creates regular educational and networking events and provide a promotional platform for female-run businesses within Sutherland Shire. It can offer advice, coaching and consultancy to help businesses grow.

Its monthly networking and education meetings are called ‘Coffee and Connect’. They are held on one Friday morning per month and members are allowed to display their marketing and promotional products. The events have a theme which is covered for three months. The first theme for 2019 is ‘Marketing’ and the first speaker will be Kelly Gaunt, who is a ShireWomen member and Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute. Kelly is from The Marketing Bungalow in Caringbah.

The event will be held on Friday 1st February from 9am-10:30am at Tradies Gymea on Manchester North Road.
