Youth Agricultural Expo to be held in Castle Hill

February 11, 2019 by

Castle Hill and Hills District Agricultural Society Inc. will be holding their annual Youth Agricultural Expo in March.

The expo gives students from The Hills and surrounding districts the chance to showcase animals they have raised at school. There will be classes for horses, cattle, both beef and dairy, sheep, both meat and wool, and poultry. Students can enter handlers and judging competitions in each of these categories. There will also be classes for craft and children’s art.

There will be a Young Farmers Challenge with the winning junior and senior teams qualifying for the state championship, which will be held at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in April.

Castle Hills and Hills District Agricultural Society Inc president, Frank Doughty, said that teachers have reported an increase in the number of students keen to pursue careers in agriculture as a result of such programs.

Events such as this often use brochure printing services to inform participants of the different classes available and their entry requirements.

The 2019 Youth Agricultural Expo will be held at the Castle Hill showground on 30th and 31st March. Current roadworks mean that the capacity of the showground is reduced and therefore the Horse Section of the show will be held a week earlier, on 23rd and 24th March. For class details and entry see the organisation’s website.
