New playgroup starts at Daisy Hill State School

June 4, 2018 by

Daisy Hill State School (formerly Slacks Creek State School) has started a playgroup for children up to 4 years old.

As the playgroup is held at the school, it also gives the children a chance to grow familiar with the facilities before they begin school at the start of their prep year, as well as giving both kids and their parents a chance to meet each other.

Daisy Hill State school is an integral part of the Daisy Hill community, with many facilities that are available for hire. The school partners with various local businesses and even helps to produce food for the koalas at the Daisy Hill Koala Centre by providing land to grow suitable trees. The school has a focus on sustainability and grows fresh vegetables to be used in the tuck shop. This gives the students a better understanding of where their food comes from and how it grows.
The group runs on Wednesday mornings from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, making it convenient for parents dropping off older siblings at the school. Those interested in joining the playgroup should give the school a call on 3386 5222 for more information from a member of staff.

Schools often consider ordering brochure printing if they wish to spread news of their playgroups and other community efforts further.
