Award-winning a cappella group to perform in Prahran

Canberra-based group The Idea of North will soon tour eastern Australia with their pre-Christmas offering: ‘Yule. Love It.’ Their only show in Melbourne will be at Chapel Off Chapel in Prahran.

The Idea of North began in Canberra in 1993, when four music students decided to make music with their voices instead of instruments. Since then, the lineup has changed, with only one of the original members, Nick Begbie, still in the group as its musical director.

With 12 albums recorded, and almost as many awards won, the group has attracted a sizable following. They recently recorded an album with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and after their ‘Yule. Love It.’ tour, they will spend early December touring Western Australia and South Australia with various orchestras for ‘Christmas Proms’ concerts.

In March next year, they will host a series of educational workshops as well as weekend performances in New Zealand. It is not uncommon for popular groups such as this to make use of printing services to produce business cards, as well as posters, album covers and music scores.

The performance of ‘Yule. Love It.’ is at Chapel Off Chapel on Friday, December 1, at 8:00 pm. Ticket prices range from $47.50 for adults, down to $22.50 for children. Concession and family tickets are available, and all can be purchased through the Seat Advisor website.
