Bombers kick off with 2015 season launch party

March 6, 2015 by

The Essendon Bombers will take a break from training at their home ground in Tullamarine, Victoria, to attend a special 2015 season launch celebration.

The event will give fans and supporters an opportunity to mingle and dine out with team members and coaches in a relaxed and fun environment.

Essendon Football Club’s Justin Rodski, the chief executive officer, said the season launch function was a precursor to a number of initiatives planned for 2015 to improve the experience for Bomber fans.

He said making the games accessible and affordable was just the start; the club also wanted to ensure fans received great customer service and entertainment from the time they first entered the stadium.

The famous Kevin Sheedy jacket wave, once only undertaken when the team played West Coast, has been deemed so popular that it will now be a feature at every game, according to Mr Rodski.

He said the club would like the ritual to be a part of Essendon’s home ground identity.

Mr Rodski said turning the lights out in the night match against the Kangaroos at Etihad Stadium, allowing the team to run in under a spotlight, had also been considered but a number of issues – such as safety and feasibility from a broadcast and player preparation perspective – would need to be taken into account.

The usual promotional activities, including poster printing and the sale of Essendon team products, will continue to be a part of the fan experience.

The club’s Season Launch Party will be held on March 16th.
