Expressions of interest to take part in the event for

2018 are now being taken.

Knowledge City portfolio Chair Cr Jackie Watts said the MKW18 event would provide an ideal opportunity for people to influence the City’s social and economic growth as well as assist stakeholders and the general public to share in the exciting experience.

Known as the city’s annual knowledge festival, MKW primarily connects minds and urges collaboration across the capital’s $59 billion knowledge sector, effectively melding technology, science, food, business and art to explore and innovate to create a city of the future.

Imagining, discussing and exploring everyone’s future together will be a major focus of the MKW18 event, according to Cr Watts.

“Melbourne’s knowledge sector incorporates everything from research, to products, to systems, to experiences, cutting edge creative technologies, biotech, engineering, conventional sciences and social sciences, advanced manufacturing, data applications, ICT, start-ups, e-commerce and more.”

Flyer printing has revealed a packed programme of interesting and unique events incorporating everything from emerging technology demonstrations, practical workshops and an all-night hackathon to be held at Melbourne Museum.

Expressions of interest for MKW18 close on October 27 with the event to be held from May 7 to 13, 2018.
