March 25, 2014 by

Small business owners in North Lakes can benefit from advice from a successful entrepreneur next month.

The event is part of a series of breakfasts organised by Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay with help from the Australian Institute of Management and Mission Australia, which discuss the theme of leadership in business.

Next month’s speaker with be Sue-Ellen Watts, who set up her own business soon after she became a mother and moved to Brisbane. Despite having no contacts and little funding to start her business, Sue-Ellen successfully managed to develop her company in conjunction with raising her family. She now has a team of 10 people who provide human resource assistance to small businesses across Australia, and was a finalist in the 2011 Telstra Queensland Business Awards.

During the breakfast, she will speak about how she built her own company and what it takes to be a successful leader. The talk will cover issues such as investing in not only your business, but also your own personal growth, and how to maintain the momentum of growth and success as business increases.

With a number of small business owners likely to attend, participants should consider business card printing before the event so they can present a professional image to potential contacts and partners.

The breakfast takes place at North Lakes Resort Golf Club on Thursday April 3rd. Bookings can be made via the Moreton Bay Regional Council website.
