Business owners invited to branch out to Brisbane

March 23, 2015 by

Entrepreneurs from Darra can hear more about doing business in Brisbane with the next Lord Mayor’s Business Forum being held nearby later this month.

The regular offerings are designed to give business owners the chance to learn from leaders in their field, as well as hearing from the Lord Mayor himself.

This month’s forum will be held at The Construction Training Centre in nearby Salisbury, making it the ideal opportunity for small and medium-sized business owners from Darra to get advice with having to travel too far.

The speakers are Chris Hill from Mater Health Services and Associate Professor Dimity Dornan.

Professor Dornan is the founder of Hear and Say, an organisation that helps children with hearing difficulties to speak and listen to others. She is an associate professor at both the University of Queensland and Griffith University and was given a Lifetime Achievement Award at last year’s Lord Mayor’s Business Awards.

Mr. Hill, meanwhile, is the director of environmental sustainability at Mater Health Services, where he has overseen several initiatives to reduce waste and improve energy and water use.

They will be joined by regular panellist Cat Matson who is the council’s chief digital officer.

The events are also a good opportunity to meet likeminded individuals, so it may be useful to make an order for business card printing to exploit potential new connections. The forum takes place on Wednesday, March 25.
