Career advice on its way to Brisbane

Bowen Hills residents looking for a new career should head to the Brisbane Convention Centre this month for one of the country’s biggest expos aimed at adult jobseekers.

The Reinvent Your Career Expo is aimed at those aged between 25 and 54 want to change direction in their career after many years in the workforce, people who want to return to work after a break, or those have more recently graduated and are looking for their first career path.

More than 80 exhibitors will be at the event, including government departments, training organisations, and major companies based not just in Brisbane, but all around Australia. They will be offering the opportunity to speak directly to human resources staff and those in charge of recruitment.

Many of them will have jobs or training courses available immediately, so anyone thinking of attending might like to ask a printing company to create some high quality copies of their résumé to give to potential employees on the day.

There will also be a series of seminars and workshops covering topics such as getting back into the workplace and succeeding at interviews, as well as the chance to have a session with a career counsellor.

The Expo will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre this Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22. Tickets are available from the Expo’s website.
