Liverpool residents are being invited to join in celebrations to mark the opening of new-look Macquarie Mall.

The Eat Your Heart Out celebration will, according to Mayor Wendy Waller, acknowledge the best of everything on offer in Liverpool.

She said the event, expected to attract thousands into the city centre, will begin in Bigge Park with an afternoon full of games and fun for all the family, followed by night time celebrations featuring music, food and culture.

Banner printing will pinpoint the centre of activities being held to mark the revamped Macquarie Mall’s grand opening.

Mayor Waller urged locals to join in the celebrations, which will see Bigge Park transformed into a mecca of fun events incorporating everything from giant games and jumping castles, to circus skills and food trucks, as well as a new touch-to-play water attraction.

Some of the area’s young people will also be on hand to provide music and entertainment.

The Mayor said among the major drawcards will be a music programme, which has been curated by local FBi Radio for presentation on stage at Macquarie Mall from 3:00 pm. It will feature a selection of established and emerging artists from throughout Western Sydney.

There will also be a “foodie’s paradise” presented by restaurateurs in the Mall, a range of stalls and cultural food tours during the Grand Opening, which takes place on October 28.
