Chance to feature in Whittlesea Council's next calendar

March 16, 2014 by

Keen photographers are being encouraged to celebrate their local area in a photography competition run by the City of Whittlesea.

The theme of this year’s competition is Discover Your Own Backyard and people are being asked to take images of things to see and do in Whittlesea. Images can be of a local park, a cycling trail, a heritage building or even a favourite restaurant, but should capture the essence of the area.

The competition is open to anyone who lives or works in the city, including any of the suburbs, such as Epping.

Thirteen winners will be chosen, and each one will receive a Westfield gift voucher.

Printing services will be used to create a community calendar, with each of the winning images featuring on a page along with the photographer’s name. The calendar will be sent to all households in the City of Whittlesea next year.

A print company could also reproduce any favourite images taken by a photographer as high quality prints for general display.

Pictures must be landscape and should focus on scenery rather than people. Each entrant may submit up to three images, which can be submitted by email or by post on a disk.

Entries are open now and close on Friday 10th October. For full details of the competition and information on things to see and do in the City of Whittlesea, visit the council’s website.
