Clifton Hill residents are on the doorstep of a mega shopping experience for Christmas.

The Big Design Market 2016 will bring together the best of international and Australian designers for a big three-day Christmas shopping spectacular.

Event organisers said this year’s market will feature an impressive line-up, including more than 230 stallholders offering stationery, homewares, kids’ products, lighting, furniture, indoor plants, ceramics, fashion, and textiles.

First-time and established designers will be promoting and selling their new creations at the market, with hundreds of innovatively designed products available, according to a spokesman for the organisers.

Among them will be Melbourne-based handcrafted jewellery designer Kitsu, which specialises in bold-coloured, curiously shaped necklaces, bracelets and earrings.

Visitors will also be able to step out in handmade shoes from Claire Best Shoes, or invest in a top-quality summer outfit from the Melbourne pop-up stand of Obus.

The spokesman said there will be thousands of exclusive and distinctive goods for sale.

To complement the wide array of stalls, the event will also provide a huge selection of dining and drink outlets, including LuxBite, All Day Donuts, Gelato Messina, Moo Brew, Beatbox Kitchen, Taco Truck, Misschu, Earl Canteen, and Love Tea.

A range of craft workshops at the Big Design Market, to be held from December 2 to 4 at the Royal Exhibition Building & Carlton Gardens, will also be available for those eager to learn a few extra skills, including stamp making.
