A number of community events, enjoyed by residents from Print company in Canning Vale printing services Canning Vale and throughout the City of Canning, are about to receive a financial boost.

Healthway sponsorships totalling more than $50,000 were recently presented by Member for Riverton Mike Nahan to Mayor of Canning Paul Ng and his chief executive officer Arthur Kyron to put towards the city’s season of events in 2017.

Dr. Nahan said he was delighted to see the city was actively engaging in the promotion of a positive mental health campaign message `act, belong, commit’ and spreading the word throughout the community.

The funding, he said, will benefit many events and he is keen to attend as many as possible personally.

The Mid Week Eats is among the first sponsored events to kick off for 2017. It takes place each Thursday night for five weeks at the Riverton Reserve, with the first event showcasing food from America. Signs and flyers will keep potential attendees informed on upcoming themes.

The Willetton Rotary community fair also received a Healthway sponsorship to the value of $12,000.

The event is held annually and is a major community event that brings together thousands of locald, according to Nahan, who added that such as the fair, scheduled for April 2, are important in helping to build a strong sense of community. He hopes the sponsorship will enable the Rotary Club of Willetton to create an even better and bigger event for all to enjoy.
