Country Music Festival to celebrate milestone in Caboolture

After entertaining crowds for a decade, the Urban Country Music Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary this weekend with a great line up of music stars.

The festival is held in Caboolture so it makes a perfect weekend for residents of nearby North Lakes to relax and listen to some live music.

Among those taking to the stage are multi-award winning Troy Cassar-Daley, John Williamson and Amber Lawrence. The established stars will perform alongside up-and-coming artists with the winner of a local talent contest, which has launched the careers of many Australian country music stars, also taking part in the festival.

The three-day festival takes place at the Queensland State Equestrian Centre, and the main events are under cover, meaning they can go ahead come rain or shine.

As well as the main concert on the Saturday night, the weekend is packed with entertainment for all the family. For those who like high impact shows, the Urban Rodeo is the place to be, with riders taking on the most spectacular of riding challenges.

Visitors who prefer a slower pace may enjoy the sheep dog demonstrations and other attractions in the Stockman’s Arena. Other events include a poetry competition, buskers and a special children’s area.

For people who would like to take home a souvenir, printing services have been called upon to produce t-shirts, caps and other merchandise.

The festival runs from Friday May 3 to Sunday May 5. For more information and to book tickets, visit the Moreton Bay Regional Council website.
