Croydon shopping centre on track for major expansion

The expansion of Croydon Central shopping centre is on track to begin in April.

On a fact sheet published on the centre’s website, owner/developer Haben Property Fund Pty Ltd. stated the construction work will not impede on trading at the centre, which is expected to remain open while work is carried out. The statement clarified that most nearby retailers will remain open too, including ALDI.

The project is to include the construction of a Market Food Hall, where customers will be able to buy fresh food and enjoy a host of dining experiences including outdoor, indoor, and bar dining.

A childcare centre, medical centre, an upgraded kids’ play area, and gym are also to be established along with the construction of 20 new town terraces featuring three bathrooms, four bathrooms, alfresco dining, two car garages, and optional personal lifts in Toorak Road.

Croydon’s transport and main shopping hubs will be accessible via a new undercover walkway to be built between the centre and Croydon Railway Station.

It is expected that the new venues will generate increased use of marketing services such as flyer printing to spread the word about any promotions or opening specials.

Current and previous projects undertaken by Haben have included the likes of Illawong Shopping Village, Seven Hills Plaza, Newtown Corner Market and Station Plaza.
