Cyber advice on offer in Wanneroo

March 6, 2014 by

Business owners from Wangara can learn how to protect their companies from cyber attacks at the latest business breakfast organised by the Wanneroo Business Association.

Statistics show that businesses with fewer than 250 employees are at high risk of an attack on their internet systems, putting customer details and commercial data at risk. At the breakfast, guest speaker Professor Craig Valli will discuss how companies can detect cyber threats, protect themselves from such attacks, and increase the security of their networks and online presence.

Professor Valli has spent more than 25 years working in the information technology sector and now acts as a consultant to businesses and government on cyber security and digital forensics. He is also the director of the Security Research institute at Edith Cowan University, which conducts research and develops computer programmes to improve security and aid areas such as data recovery and storage.

The event will also provide a networking opportunity for local entrepreneurs, so it is a good idea to make an order for business card printing ahead of time to ensure contact details can be provided for follow up meetings.

The meeting will be held in the Leap Frogs Café Marquee in Wanneroo on Wednesday 19th March. Bookings need to be made by Friday 14th March via the association’s website. Association members receive discounted prices, but non-members are also welcome to attend.
