There is a flurry of poster and flyer printing happening across Australia right now, as promotions begin to announce music icon Dan Sultan’s upcoming ‘Killer Solo’ tour of Australia, with Milton being one of his calling points.

Sultan released his debut solo album, Homemade Biscuits, in 2006 at 22 years of age. Since then, his blend of rock, blues and roots has seen him embraced by lovers of music Australia-wide.

He has won ARIAs for Best Blues and Roots Album and Best Male Artist in 2010, and Best Rock Album in 2014. He has also been the recipient of National Indigenous Music Awards (NIMAs) for National Album of the Year (Blackbird, 2014), National Song of the Year (The Same Man, 2014, and was named Artist of the Year at the NIMAs in 2015.

Sultan’s upcoming tour is in support of his newest release, ‘Killer’, an album which he says is lyrically more mature as he matures. He explains:

“That’s the idea, isn’t it? You get older, and a bit wiser, and as a songwriter you’re always trying to get better and trying to push yourself.”

The shows, scheduled to begin in March and run throughout the year, are said to be stripped back, intimate performance showcasing his most popular songs alongside tracks from the recently released album.

Sultan brings his tour to Milton Theatre on Friday, May 4. Tickets are available now and can be booked online.
