National Tree Day branches out to Monash

July 28, 2012 by

This year’s National Tree Day will take place tomorrow, July 29, and everyone is invited to make Monash a greener place by planting trees on Fairway Reserve, Mount Waverley. Planting trees is always a worthwhile cause and now people from Monash and nearby towns such as Scoresby can all come together and do their bit for the community and the environment.

This National Tree Day planting event has been organised by The Friends of Scotchmans Creek and Valley Reserve, with help from Scouts Victoria and the city of Monsah, and promises to be a fun day out for everyone. Whether coming with family, friends or work colleagues, planting trees on this occasion will make everyone part of a very valuable team and also provide them with an opportunity to spend the day in the fresh air, with plenty to see and do.

The plants for this event have been provided by Melbourne Water and the scouts will also be running a barbecue, so everyone can treat themselves with a feast after completing a hard day’s work.

For many people, planting a tree on National Tree Day is the only way to spend such an important day and events like this are good for the community and good for the environment too. Such events often use materials provided by printing services to let others know about what is taking place, so that they can get involved. Look out for flyers or posters about this event or contact the organisers directly for more information.
