A stadium with 15,000 seats could be constructed in Dandenong now the concept design is completed.

Cox Architects produced the concept design for the potential stadium within the Dandenong suburb. Printing services can get a boost from developments in the leisure sector. The hope is that the south-east of Melbourne will eventually feature a soccer team with an A-League status. The stadium is likely to be situated in the vicinity of a railway station to make access straightforward.

Jim Memeti, a councillor for Greater Dandenong, explained:

“The stadium is not just about the creation of what can be an enormous football club, this will be a prized asset for our region, catering for a wide range of sporting events, multicultural festivals, concerts and functions.”

Football Federation Australia (FFA) is intending to add to the number of teams that participate in the A-League. At the moment, just 10 teams are involved in the struggle to take the title. By 2019, 12 outfits could be in with a chance of securing the top spot.

Team 11 is a consortium based on the City of Casey, Cardinia Shire Council and the City of Greater Dandenong. The local community also has an input into this evolving partnership. The overall idea has been to establish an appropriate location for a stadium, while getting the concept design sorted out.
