Entrepreneurs and inventors to find inspiration at conference

May 14, 2017 by

Budding entrepreneurs from Eveleigh and surrounding areas, such as Alexandria, will have the opportunity to learn from established business makers and designers in Australia about some of the tricks and tools in creating a startup.

The Sunrise Conference will appeal to those who already have the beginnings of an idea about a new industry or invention and wish to develop it further, or to those who would like to work for a startup company. It will also be helpful for those already more advanced in their project who are looking to increase their networking contacts.

Keynote speakers will tell their story and be available for question and answer sessions. Speakers will include Managing Director of The Wiggles, Paul Field; Jodie Fox, founder of Shoes of Prey; and Adam Gilmour who founded Gilmour Space Technologies.

The Wiggles is one of Australia’s most popular children’s entertainment groups recognised internationally. Shoes of Prey achieved status as a multimillion-dollar business within two years of startup and is now a global company. Gilmour Space Technologies is working on the creation of a new rocket which will launch satellites to space. Networking will be a feature of this kind of event with the probable use of business cards.

The Sunrise Conference will be open at the Carriageworks on 245 Wilson Street at Eveleigh on Wednesday, May 31, from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm and is suitable for adults interested in startup opportunities.
