Expo to target small businesses

June 30, 2013 by

Entrepreneurs in North Lakes and the surrounding areas will have the chance to learn how to boost their business next month.

The Moreton Bay Regional Council is holding a small business expo targeted specifically at home-based businesses, small businesses and anyone looking to set up a similar type of company.

The expo will run for one day and will feature a series of talks covering all aspects of running a business. The morning talks, for example, will cover business planning, how to manage cash flows and budgets to increase profits, and how to develop contracts. A keynote speaker will talk at lunch and in the afternoon, the focus will be on marketing using both traditional methods such as flyer printing and online marketing such as social media.

As well as the presentations, a number of government departments will have stands at the expo, allowing them to explain the help they can give to small and start-up enterprises. This is a good opportunity for North Lakes entrepreneurs to get funding to kick start their idea for a business or boost an existing company, as well as meeting other local business leaders to swap ideas or skills.

The expo takes place on Friday July 26th at the Calboolture Hub in Hasking Street and runs from 9:00am to 3.30pm. Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

Places are free, but participants must register in advance either for the whole day or for specific presentations. To register, contact Moreton Bay Regional Council or visit the council website's business pages.
