Families urged to kick off Christmas at Carols by Kingston

Festive celebrations for residents in Moorabbin and throughout the City of Kingston will include a star-studded night of carols and top entertainment.

Mayor David Eden said the annual Carols by Kingston will this year bring together some of the country’s top performers led by ARIA award winning vocalist and stage and screen actor Kate Cebrano.

Banner printing for the event will also feature an impressive line-up of Australian favourites including Jack Howard, of the Hunters and Collectors, and jazz vocalist Nina Ferro.

According to the Mayor, the festive celebration will offer something for all ages with everything from kids carnival rides and food vans to a spectacular fireworks display.

He said the range of Christmas market stalls will incorporate handcrafted items, home decor, Christmas decorations, handcrafted jewellery and gardening gifts for kids.

Services accessible on the night will include a Marvel loo facility and Auslan signing.

Mayor Eden said the occasion will provide a great opportunity for family and friends to get together prior to the holidays, relax in the park setting and enjoy the festive sounds of Christmas.

Visitors can also support community groups at the fundraising sausage sizzle hosted by the Edithvale Fire Brigade while buying a candle will aid the Kingston Toy Library.

Carols by Kingston will be held on December 11, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm at Sir William Fry Reserve Highett.

Mayor Eden said the event will mark the beginning of Kingston’s Season of Festivals.
