The Edgewater Fusion Festival will be returning for its second year at Maribyrnong, near Essendon.

Sponsored by Bendigo Bank, City West Water and the Maribyrnong City Council, the event is aimed at attracting the whole community to join together for a day of fun, food, activities and entertainment. With the theme of the festival being ‘fusion’, visitors will be treated to what is described as a ‘fusion’ of live entertainment, food and an opportunity to experience displays of local history and culture. This represents a fusion of old and new, young and old.

The festival takes advantage of the nearby Maribyrnong River for displaying water events and demonstrations. Local schools join with community groups and cultural entities to provide entertainment during the day. Performers this year include the Hyde Street Youth Band, which will be taking part in the festival for the first time. The band was started in 1928 in the local primary school and is now active in the communit,y providing band music training to youth of all abilities.

It is likely that banner printing, poster printing, and flyers will be used for this event, which will take place on Saturday, November 19 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Harbour Plaza on Edgewater Boulevard, Maribyrnong. Entry is open to visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
