Festival of music and dancing awaits at Glenroy festival

April 28, 2017 by

Locals and those visiting Glenroy, near Broadmeadows, will enjoy four hours in an afternoon of music and dancing, as well as a number of other fun activities aimed to bring the community together. There will be events for both adults and children to enjoy.

Presented by the Moreland City Council, entertainment will be provided by performers such as All Day Fritz who, with Anna Gogo, their go-go dancer, will aim to please dancers of all ages. Small Town Romance will seek to impress country music aficionados, and Bindaas Dance Company will bring the atmosphere of Bollywood to the event.

Also on the program are African band Shabba and Ten Minute Dance Parties, the latter of which aim to facilitate an experience for young people that will form the “best 10 minutes of their lives”, in an interactive arena where participants are encouraged to party as hard as possible in the time allocated. Food and drink stalls will be present. Festivals such as this generally use banner printing and flyers.

The Glenroy Festival will be running from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 30 at the site of the Old Glenroy Primary School in Bridget Shortell Reserve on 50 Wheatsheaf Road at Glenroy. This is a family event and all ages and backgrounds will be welcome.
