French fun ahead in East Perth this month

October 18, 2016 by

The Bonjour Perth Festival will be returning to East Perth for a second year, providing the opportunity to experience culture and customs from French-speaking nations.

French food and wine will be abundant, with entertainment and activities to interest people of all ages.

Attractions include Le Marché (which will showcase French food and products), activities for children in Kids Corner, French in Perth providing information on organisations within Perth that either speak French or have a connection to France, artists presenting their art in Montmartre, ‘Our French World’ pavilion with information on France and French-speaking countries, and a car show presenting both vintage and new French cars. These events will close at 6:00 pm, while other entertainment will continue until the end of the evening’s program.

Demonstrations of fencing and pétanque (a form of boules) will allow visitors to take part in popular French sports, while a Bubble Soccer Tournament will be held throughout the day. French Theatre and dance workshops will be other attractions for those interested.

The Bonjour Perth Festival will be held this Saturday, October 22, from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm at Ozone Reserve near Langley Park. Entry is by donation of at least a dollar and is open to all ages. As with all events like this, it is likely that locals will spot banners and flyers advertising the day.
