A three-bedroom apartment in Randwick has recently gone under the hammer for $1.405 million, where the previous owner has donated all the proceeds to St Vincent Hospital for the purchasing of new equipment. The selling agent Di Jones also plans to donate the sales commission for the same purposes.

The good Samaritan is the late Donald Stone, who did not marry and had no family. According to a spokesperson for St Vincent’s Hospital, Stone wanted to help people around him, therefore leaving all his estate and cash to the hospital after he passed.

According to Jane Schumann, agent from Di Jones Eastern Suburbs, the auction of the apartment on 8/18-22 Courland St was highly competitive and attracted a lot of interest. The unit was sold to the new owners for $205,000 in excess of the reserve. Schumann also explained that the garage was a major selling point of the property.

Coogee Beach is just a five-minute drive away from the property. The new owners of the property are also local buyers from Coogee.

Homebuyers or investors who are interested in purchasing an apartment are encouraged to get in touch with real estate agents for professional advice. Business cards are a useful means for obtaining contact details of agents to ensure a smooth purchasing process of your next property.
