Ideas night for aspiring young entrepreneurs

The importance of youth and innovation will be a focus of speakers at this month’s Young Entrepreneur Ideas evening in Liverpool, New South Wales .

The Liverpool Council initiative will bring together some of the area’s professional achievers, including locally-born CEO of Time Out Australia Michael Rodrigues, Centre Manager of Westfield Liverpool Justine Guest, founder of Knafeh Bakery Ameer El-issa, and speakers from the Launchpad at Western Sydney University.

Mayor Ned Mannoun said it was important to recognise and focus on the area’s young entrepreneurs, adding that the under-30 age group represents 45% of Liverpool’s population, meaning there is a growing need for the creation of more successful businesses to provide employment, goods and services to cater for the rising number of residents.

Time Out’s Rodrigues agreed, saying Liverpool was evolving much more quickly than when he was growing up in the area, and the latest technology and digital media is providing many opportunities for forward-thinking businesses to attract new audiences.

The evening for young entrepreneurs on September 15 at the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre is one of several events held during Small Business Week from September 12 to 16.

Additional events will include a night hosted by the South West Sydney Business Enterprise Centre that will highlight Start-Up Essentials required for business, including printing services such as business cards and stationery printing.
