Liverpool Council was handed a prize at the recent NSW Local Government Professional Awards.

Liverpool’s council secured the award in the category of Excellence in Local Economic Contribution. The council might opt to use newsletter printing within Liverpool to celebrate its achievements, as it plans to transform the suburb for which it has responsibility.

Over 6,000 new firms have registered in the Liverpool area during the course of the last year. This positive result has been attributed to the quality of innovative management. The hope is that planning can help to move the South Western Sydney district up an economic level. Residents and ratepayers should benefit from future progress in local economic development.

The awards ceremony was held in the Ivy Ballroom within Sydney. More than 300 professionals connected with local government chose to attend the event. John Barilaro MP, the Deputy Premier for New South Wales , paid tribute to the professionalism and dedication of Liverpool Council. He also praised the efforts of local government officials in general. Gabrielle Upton, the current Minister for Local Government, helped him to distribute the awards.

The awards were put on by the New South Wales section of Local Government Professionals Australia. This organisation aspires to promote high ethical standards. At the same time, the body aims to encourage its members to succeed by fostering innovation and leadership skills.
