Melbourne gears up for its special day

August 2, 2012 by

The city of Melbourne is all set to celebrate its 177th birthday this August, with a number of different events taking place over the course of one week. The actual date for the main celebrations is the August 30 but, with people within the area so excited and eager to celebrate the city they love, a number of different activities and events are being held on different days and different places throughout Melbourne.

Highlights of the Melbourne Day celebrations will include a flag-raising ceremony at Enterprize Park, a Victoria Harbour regatta in the Docklands, the Melbourne Day Debate, a Docklands party at Waterfront City, a breakfast and lunch, a school program and a number of fantastic offers taking place across some of the best venues within the Melbourne area. With such an impressive and varied selection of events taking place, there will be something for everyone and people from Melbourne, West Melbourne and all over Victoria are being encouraged to come along and take part.

Big events like this often work with professional printing companies so they can provide others with information about what is taking place and how they can get involved. Those interested in attending any of the celebrations should look out for posters, leaflets and banners offering information about the different events or, alternatively, visit the Melbourne Day website to find out more. Those interested in taking part in key events should contact organisers as soon as possible, as places are limited.
