Narre Warren artist presents exhibition of digital paintings

Artist Gino Ciancio has a collection of 15 paintings on display in the Civic Centre Art Space, in Magid Drive, Narre Warren.

The exhibition, entitled ‘My Landscapes’, showcases Ciancio’s collection of paintings, all of which were created digitally on an iPad. They have been transferred to either canvas or special art paper, using UV resistant pigment inks.

Originally from Echuca, Victoria, Gino Ciancio now lives in Narre Warren, where he runs a studio and gallery with his wife Judy, also an artist.

In a leaflet available at the exhibition, Ciancio explains:

“I can take the viewer along with me visually and emotionally through colour, space, line, tone and concept. My palette never goes dry and I throw nothing away.”

The gallery, which is in a prominent position in the reception of the Civic Centre, is one of four in the City of Casey’s Art Spaces Programme. The other three galleries are housed in the libraries of Cranbourne, Doveton and Endeavour Hills. Together, the four venues will display over 20 exhibitions in 2017, incorporating works by more than 50 local artists.

In addition to the paintings, the gallery has also made use of catalogue printing and brochures, and the artist’s luxury business cards are readily available throughout the gallery space.

Ciancio’s ‘My Landscapes’ exhibition is free to attend and runs until Tuesday, May 2.
