Canning Vale residents are just 9km away from major shopping centre Westfield Carousel and its long-awaited $350 million redevelopment.

Eager to transform the local shopping spot into a major entertainment hub, Westfield has introduced three key attractions including a mall, a rooftop entertainment and dining precinct, and David Jones.

Among the new restaurants on offer will be Cafe63, TGI Fridays and in a first for Western Australia Criniti’s will be opening to provide some favourite Italian cuisine.

History will also be made with the state’s first Vans and JD Sports outlets open in the new fashion mall.

Logo design plays an important part in brand recognition. Another famous logo to be featured will be Platypus along with Shike, Seed, Mecca and G-Star Raw plus major retailer David Jones.

Ben Webster is David Jones’ General Manager of Store Operations. He said the store aimed at providing customers with the ultimate experience saying:

“It’s about bringing that downtown experience from our CBD location to our new stores.”

In addition, food lovers will be able to taste local food in a new café, inspired by Neil Perry.

The rooftop will also feature a see-through skylight water feature, lush green landscaping and purpose-built seating.

Live entertainment will also be presented on an elevated amphitheatre.

Chris Barton, Westfield WA Regional Manager, said the best retail and fashion available has been included in the redevelopment as per customers’ wishes.

Community consultation, he said, had been an important part of the project.

The new facilities are set to open officially on August 30.
