New Perth student housing development previews

A display apartment that shows what life will be like for students who take up accommodation in a new Northbridge housing development has opened in Perth’s CBD.

The Boulevard, which is expected to be completed in February 2019, will be the first ever purpose-built student accommodation in the city. With 23 levels and 571 beds, the 23 level Stirling Street complex will bring plenty of extra business opportunities to the CBD, likely leading to extra demand for poster printing and banner printing services.

Featuring a rooftop pool, TV rooms and a communal kitchen, The Boulevard is designed to ‘create a vibrant community’, according to Global Student Accommodation Head of Commercial Operations Craig Oliver. Oliver said the privately-owned complex will be staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with employees working to create a safe and collegial atmosphere. He noted that some students who would not have lived out of home before, or who have come from overseas, will be able to obtain paid work running activities for other tenants.

Being located in lively Northbridge in the CBD’s east, students living at The Boulevard will also have some of the best chances to explore the local lifestyle in Perth. The area has long been considered one of the hippest parts of the city, with plenty of bars, restaurants, nightclubs, record stores and other cultural highlights.
