North Lakes mothers to be serenaded on their special day

This Sunday, May 14, is Mothers’ Day in Australia, and inhabitants of North Lakes and other suburbs of Moreton Bay can treat their mothers to a musical event in George Willmore Park, Ferny Hills.

The free concert is part of the Hills Festival which runs from 5 to 27 May. Music in the Park has been sponsored by Matt Constance, councillor for Division 10, and features Lennon Bosschieter, Ruby Gilbert and Brett Whitmore.

In the words of Councillor Constance:

“Music in the Park will be a fantastic afternoon of entertainment and a great way to spoil mum on her special day.”

There will be a wide choice of food and refreshments from various vendors. Music lovers – and their mothers – are encouraged to bring folding chairs and picnic blankets, and to relax and enjoy the music for three hours, from 1:30 to 4:30 pm.

The Hills Festival is funded by Moreton Bay Regional Council, and includes fireworks, face painting, numerous events and workshops aimed at both children and adults. The print industry will no doubt be in support with signs and banner printing, and many of those present are sure to be handing out promotional flyers.

The festival will end with the Hills Carnivale on Saturday, May 27, when entertainment will be spread across two stages, as well as competitions, stilt-walkers, markets and stalls.
